The Minister of Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah inaugurated the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) Board jointly with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) Board at the Ministry of Roads and Highways Conference Room in Accra on 10th September 2021.
The 13-member Board include;
Hon. Asiamah after swearing in the Board Members, reminded them of the tough task ahead to reduce the crash figures being recorded in the country. He added that, after Prez. Nana Addo had enhanced the powers of the Road Safety body, it is necessary for measures and policies to be put in place to improve the current situation, by employing the Digital Ghana Agenda in all activities.
Giving counsel to the sworn-in Board Members, he entreated them and Management of the NRSA to work hand-in-hand to achieve set targets and the overall Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.
“What will be the use of power if you do not perform? We are here to serve mother Ghana. If you perform well, your mandate will be renewed.”
He called on the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service to intensify their enforcement activities to bring sanity to our roads.
The Members of the Board subsequently paid a working visit to the NRSA Head Office and met with Management Staff.
