ASSOCIATION OF VULCANIZERS, GHANA HOST MEDIA ON TYRE-CARE
The Association of Vulcanizers Ghana, [AVG] in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority [NRSA] held a Press Conference to disseminate the National Road Safety Regulations 2022 (L.I. 2468) at their premises in Mallam today.
This was held to inform the general public of measures taken to reduce tyre-related road traffic crashes in Ghana.
The AVG was excited about the new regulatory role of the NRSA, something they had been pushing for for the past 12 years.
The AVG pledged their willingness and readiness to collaborate with the Authority in line with L.I. 2468 Regulation 76 which mandates the NRSA to work collaboratively with recognised associations to register and issue Road Safety Practice Permits to tyre technicians or vulcanisers.
The Director, Regulations, Inspections & Compliance, Kwame Kodua Atuahene, Esq. revealed that tyre issues were a concern to the NRSA and will begin registering service providers from February this year.
The service provider must have equipment calibrated by the Ghana Standards Authority to be issued with the Permit.
The public was advised to look out for a tyre centre accredited by the NRSA for their tyre care issues.
