Western North

The Western North Region is one of the six new regions of Ghana created in 2019. The region is bounded by the Ivory Coast on the west, the Western and Central Regions on the east, and the Ashanti, Ahafo and Bono regions in the north. The Western North Region has the highest rainfall in Ghana, lush green hills, and fertile soils.

The region has a population of 564,668 according to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Population and Housing Census (PHC), 2021.

  • Ponikrom End
  • River Tano Bridge
  • Tanaso Main Town

None of these blackspots are located on a National highway, but Regional routes and inter-Regional routes.
