ABLEKUMA CENTRAL MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY EMBARKS ON MASSIVE CLEAN UP EXERCISE.

As part of Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly’s mandate to keep the municipality clean at all times, on 28th April, 2023, staff of the Municipal Assembly took time off their busy schedules to as early as 6:00am gather at Abossey Okai Central Mosque to begin a massive clean up exercise including desilting of drains from the Central Mosque through Fio Enterprise, Beyeema and Galloway.

The exercise saw staff turned out in their numbers with everybody keenly involved in one activity or the other. According to the leadership of the Assembly, this will not be a Nine day wonder but will continue with this social responsibility as often as possible.

The exercise was necessitated by the perennial flooding which affects business operations and properties within that enclave due to choked gutters and dumping of refuse into the drains. As the rainy season is beckoning, the assembly intends to reduce if not eradicate completely the level of disasters that occurs during heavy downpours.

The Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly did this exercise in conjunction with Accra Metropolitan Assembly and supported by the Ghana National Fire Service and the Municipal Ambulance Service.

Due to other functions of the assembly, the exercise came to a successful end at exactly 11:00am
